IT and Panchayat Raj Minister today said that the government will accord priority to provide basic amenities to people like drinking water and others with a focus on individual toilets for better sanitation. Along with Nizamabad MP, the minister held a review meeting over the works being taken up through Panchayat Raj, Rural Development and Rural Water Scheme. He asked the leaders and officials to take all measures to ensure drinking water supply through tankers and provide other facilities to the people. Keeping less rainfall in the state we need to take urgent steps he said. KTR said that the government will give financial assistance for the purpose through calamity relief fund. He also emphasized the need for constructing about six lakhs of individual toilets in 2015 and asked the MLAS to take up works through village level committees. He also reviewed the flagship programs of water grid, sanitation and others.(NSS)
