Sonipat: A private nursing home at Murthal road area here has been sealed for conducting illegal prenatal sex selection and flouting norms of operating the health care institute.
Arora Nursing Home situated at Murthal road here was sealed yesterday for conducting illegal abortions and sex selection, Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Ratan said.
The owner of the nursing home, Asha Arora was arrested under Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act and Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) Act, he said.
Deputy Civil surgeon Mahendra said that they were getting many complaints of the illegal nature of the nursing home.
We tricked the nursing home owner with one of the clients sent by us, he said.
Mahendra said that it was found out that the nursing home was not having proper records of the abortions it did. It also flouted many other norms of running a medical clinic.
The Deputy Commissioner added that the state of Haryana was taking PM Modi’s ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ programme seriously and would deal with such illegal clinics with an iron hand.
