Qamarul Islam’s ouster from Karnataka cabinet sparks protest in Gulbarga

Gulbarga: Mr. Siddaramaiah, CM of Karnataka after getting green signal from Congress High Command dropped 14 ministers from his cabinet including Minorities Welfare Minister, Dr. Qamarul Islam.

Qamarul Islam’s supporters expressed their severe anger and organized protest programs like “Rasta Roko” and shouted slogans against Ms. Sonia Gandhi, Mr. Rahul Gandhi, Mr. Digvijay Singh, Mr. Mallikarjun Karghe, Mr. Siddaramaiah and Mr. G. Parmeshwar. At Nehru Gunj, Ring Road and Muslim Chowk in Gulbarga, a large number of his supporters protested against his ouster. At Tippu Sultan Chowk, Mr. Tahir Ali and his supporters protested. At Timmapuri Chowk, the protestors demanded the CM to re-induct Dr. Qamarul Islam in the cabinet. Many vehicles were set ablaze.

Addressing a press conference from Aiwan-e-Shahi, Dr. Qamarul Islam, he presented his contribution. Mayor and Members of District Boards and Corporations decided to tender their resignation as a mark of protest.
