Railway Protection Force Personnel nab mobile phone thieves red-handed

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel of Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway nabbed two mobile phone thieves red-handed when they tried to steal a mobile phone from a passenger o­n the platform.

The incident occurred at around 09:00 hrs o­n 4th October, 2015 at Vijayawada Railway station, when the passenger by name Mr. Sira Satish, had kept his HTC Mobile Phone worth Rs.5000/- for charging at Platform No. 5. While the passenger was concentrating o­n the arrival of his train, the two offenders namely, S.K. Ahamad, and Mamidipala Mohan Rao, committed the theft of the mobile phone and tried to escape. Shri P.A.S. Narayana, Head Constable, Crime Prevention and Detection Squad, who was keeping watch over the movements of the criminal elements at the Railway Station, immediately apprehended the thieves and recovered the stolen mobile from them.

The culprits were handed over to the Government Railway Police, Vijayawada where a case of Crime No. 410/2015 under the section IPC 379 dated 4/10/15 was registered. (NSS)
