Raj: farmer commits suicide

Bundi (Raj): A 48-year-old farmer allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree in Salawliya village in the district, police said today.

It seems family issues forced him to take the extreme step. The body was found hanging from the tree this morning, Sub-Inspector (SI) at Hindoli Police Station Ram Karan said.

He allegedly committed suicide yesterday night. The body has been handed over to his family members after postmortem, he said.

“No suicide note was recovered from the spot,” Karan said.

The farmer, a resident of Alwar district’s Baharoad town, had come to the village along with his family to check his farm, the SI said.

A case has been lodged under section 174 (police to enquire and report on suicide) of CrPC. The matter is being investigated, he said.
