Raj IPS officer supports shunted woman IPS officer

Coming out in support of the Fatehabad SP Sangeeta Rani Kalia, who was shunted out after an argument with a Haryana minister, IPS officer of Rajasthan cadre Pankaj Kumar Choudhary today said that governments should not make transfer and posting of officers a “political tool” against honest officials.

Choudhary, presently posted as SP-State Crime Record Bureau (SCRB) here, said that he himself is being targeted for the last one year for working honestly.

“Ethics are meant for all, be it politicians or officers but it is unfortunate that the officers who work with honesty and dedication are targeted. In times when we are talking about women empowerment, development and discussion on the Constitution, such act is unfortunate,” he said.

“The transfer of the lady IPS officer is very unfortunate. It appears that things were projected in a wrong manner which led to the entire episode. The lady officer has done a good job in the last few months and she should have been encouraged instead of demoralising her,” the IPS officer said.

Sangeeta Rani Kalia, SP of Fatehabad district, was transferred today, a day after a spat with Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij, becoming the second woman IPS officer to be unceremoniously shifted in two months, triggering angry reactions against the minister from the opposition and on social media.

Chaudhary noted that he can understand the “pain of a biased system” as he himself was a victim of it, while noting that the attitude towards honest officers should be changed for good.

Chaudhary, an IPS officer of 2009 batch, was transferred from Jaisalmer to Kishangarh Police Training School after he ordered to open the history-sheet of a politician belonging to the then ruling Congress party in 2013.
