Rajender invites Chandrababu to attend son’s marriage

Telangana Finance Minister Etala Rajender today called on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at Gannavaram Airport near Vijayawada and extended an invitation to Chandrababu to attend the marriage of his son.

Later, Chandrababu left for Anantapur district to attend Eruvaka program. Talking to mediapersons at Amaravathi, Rajender said the people of Andhra Pradesh were not paying tax for rice. Though the government imposed tax on the essential commodity like rice the people were not paying tax, he said. He also said the two Telugu States are urging the Centre to implement a uniform tax regime across the nation through GST to be effective from July 1.

Rajender said he would bring the objections of the people to the notice of GST Council during its meeting in Delhi on June 11. Uniform tax regime should be implemented in such a way that no one escapes from paying the tax, he said. The Finance Minister said taxes proposed to be imposed on granite, beedies are objectionable. Rajender, who is also the member of the GST Council, has opposed the taxes on development works of the government. Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are at top level in development sector, he added. (NSS)
