Why Rajnath didn’t visit Handwara when 5 innocent were killed? Asks Kashmir lawmaker

Srinagar:  Posing a direct question to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Kahsmir’s independent lawmaker and AIP leader e Er Rasheed said  why  he did not visit Kashmir when five innocent persons were fell to bullets of security forces in Handwara town.

In the wake of attack on the CRPF personnel at Pampore, Union Home Minister’ visited to Kashmir.  Er Rasheed said that the visit itself has exposed double standards of the Indian Government.

In a statement issued today, he reminded Rajnath Singh that whenever Kashmiri people fell to bullets of violence nobody cared about them.

“While Rajnath Singh is at liberty to visit the state but Kashmiris have a right to know that if Home Minister is so worried about loss of human lives in the state, what stopped him from visiting Handwara where five innocents fell to bullets of security forces. Not even the state Chief Secretary or even Home Secretary bothered to visit Handwara to assess that why army and police used extra-force against unarmed civilians and didn’t hesitate to kill even a 75 year old lady.”

Er Rasheed added that before Home Minister’s visit, the high level team from New Delhi had taken stock of the situation and from both the high profile visits it was evident that New Delhi was more worried about the security of Amarnath Yatra and army convoy passing through national highway and other places rather caring about lives of innocent citizens. The double standards of New Delhi were also visible when non-state subject students had created havoc in NIT Srinagar.

He added that New Delhi didn’t show the same response when jawans of JK Police were killed in the streets of Srinagar, thus proving that for New Delhi life of every Kashmiri including policemen, is not as precious as that of a Indian national whosoever he may be and wants policemen to be used like scapegoats in J&K.
