Ramgarh lynching: Police arrest ‘Gau rakshak’ who chased Ansari for 15 km before joining the assault

Ramgarh: New facts revealed by the police after more than a week of the lynching of Alimuddin Ansari in Ramgarh district of Jharkhand. Police disclosed the arrest of the man who followed the victim and informed the victim’s movement to key accused.

According to police, Raj Kumar, allegedly a Gau Raksha Samiti member kept an eye on the movement of Ansari before joining in the assault. He was arrested on Wednesday and on Thursday, he was sent to judicial custody.

According to the report published in Indian Express, police claimed that the lab tests on samples of meat found in Ansari’s Maruti van have confirmed that it was beef.

Police arrested 11 persons including the BJP’s district media in-charge who is also the main accused, Deepak Mishra and Chhotu Verma.

According to the police report, main accused asked Kumar who is a resident of Chitarpur to follow the Ansari’s vehicle. Dy. SP, VK Chowdhary said that as per call records, Kumar was in touch with Mishra and Verma.

During the police questioning, Mishra admitted that he had hit Ansari twice. He also revealed that the mob later, hit Ansari with police baton which led to serious injuries, Indian Express reports.
