Rape case registered against realtor after court intervention

Faridabad: After initially refusing to register a rape case against a realtor on the basis of complaint of a woman, the Faridabad kotwali police today registered an FIR after court intervention.

The complaint filed yesterday with Judicial Magistrate Vinay Sharma says that the girl, who hailed from Noida, was allegedly raped by the accused, who hailed from Faridabad, in a hotel room here.

The accused, a real estate businessman, had offered the girl a job in Faridabad and she was asked to attend an interview in a hotel there, the complaint said.

On September 20, she went to the hotel where she was allegedly served cold drinks laced with sedative and allegedly raped by the man, according to the complaint.

She said the accused threatened to kill her if she reported the matter to the police. Afraid of her life she returned to her home at Noida, she claimed.

According to the complaint, she returned to Faridabad Kotwali Police Station 2-3 days later to file a complaint but the police there took her to a women police station.

She alleged that the woman police station too refused to register the case and she was sent back to Noida.

She then filed the case with a local court yesterday which directed the Faridabad Kotwali Police Station to register the case.

Sub Inspector Satyanarayan said the police have started investigation into the case.
