Rape victim denied stretcher by hospital who was profusely bleeding

Lucknow: A rape victim who was bleeding profusely of Lakhimpur in Uttar Pradesh was denied a stretcher in a government hospital and the hospital authorities even refused to touch her as her condition deteriorated.

A policeman and one of her family members were seen carrying her by her arms and legs from one ward to another without a stretcher.

According to reports, the girl had gone to nearby field close to her house in Lakhimpur where she was repeatedly raped and was left bleeding and twitching in pain.

The girl narrated the entire incident to her family members after which a case was registered in the police station and the victim was taken to the hospital.

Where she was also ‘denied any form of assistance’ by the hospital despite serious injuries, the reports said.

The victims mother said, “My daughter had gone out to the fields, where she was raped. She was bleeding profusely. We are waiting for her to regain consciousness to identify the perpetrators.”

The district authorities have taken note of the apathy, with the District Magistrate directing the Chief Medical Officer to attend to the case with required medical attention.
