Regularise contract teachers: CPI urges Govt

CPI State secretary Chada Venkat Reddy today urged Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to regularize the services of Tribal Residential Contract Teachers.

In a pressnote here today, the CPI leader expressed concern that the State government was not keeping its manifesto promise of regularizing contract and outsourcing teaching staff in schools. Though the TRS Government completed three years, the leadership was yet to take a final call in this regard. He opposed the idea of the government to renew every year the contract employees and not implementing GO No 16 for providing PRC.

There was no job security for SC and ST poor teachers awaiting regularization of their jobs, he said. He urged the government to accede to the just demands of these teachers. Stating that there are 2,068 contract teachers, the CPI leader appealed to the government to fill 1,191 vacant posts in all districts and sanction 225 posts for those schools converted into undivided districts.
