Deputy Chief Minister for Education Kadiyam Srihari today informed the Legislative Council that the State government was taking steps to regularize services of contract lecturers in the State.
“Regularization process was kept pending because OU students approached the court on this issue,” the minister said, adding that in spite of this, the government would begin this process after obtaining permission from the court. He said the monthly salary of contract lecturers has been increased to Rs 27,000 from Rs 18,000 and similarly the salary of those lecturers working in degree colleges was increased to Rs 31,000 from Rs 20,000.
The Education minister said the State government has information that eight fake educational institutions were functioning and the government was taking action against them. (NSS)
