Relative stabs woman to death in temple premises

Hyderabad, July 08: A 35-year-old woman was killed while her husband sustained grievous injuries when they were brutally stabbed by their relatives over some property dispute.

According to Sultan Bazar, the victim, Soni Bai, was attacked by her relative Lakhan while she was sweeping the Laxmi Narasimha Temple in Putli Bowli on Tuesday morning. Lakhan also attacked Soni’s husband Anand Das when he tried to rescue her. Soni died on the spot while Anand has been admitted to a hospital with multiple injuries.

Investigation by the police revealed that Lakhan attacked Soni to avenge the killing of his brother Kishan Das in 2009 in connection with a property dispute. Soni was one of the accused in Kishan’s murder case and was also arrested in 2010. Police began investigation after registering cases under Sections 302, 307 and other relevant sections against Lakhan, who has reportedly been arrested. (INN)
