Religious character should be the criterion for marriages – Abid Siddiqui

Hyderabad: Minorities Development Forum of Siasat Urdu Daily organized Du-ba-Du (Face-to-Face) Matrimonial Alliance Program yesterday at Nafeez Garden Function Hall, Lalapet, Secunderabad. Lalaguda Old Boys’ Association collaborated with MDF in organizing this program.

Mr. Abid Siddiqui, President of MDF presided over the function. He told that religious background should only be the criterion in selecting the girls for marriages. Mr. Zahid Ali Khan and Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan realized the seriousness of matrimonial issues and launched a movement for celebrating simple marriages. This movement has become popular not only in the State but in India and also in foreign countries.

Mr. Basheeruddin Ahmed, proprietor of Nafees Function Hall addressed the gathering at the guest of honour. He told that the girls should be selected as per Shariat. Earlier, Mr. Syed Tajuddin, President of the Association in his welcome address thanked MDF and Siasat for organizing such program. Mr. Mohammed Jahangir welcomed the guests and conducted the meeting. In all, 41 girls and 101 boys got themselves registered. The program was conducted from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
