Remains of bathroom, cistern, fountain discovered during excavation at Naya Qila, Golconda

Hyderabad: After Qutub Shahi Tombs, the Naya Qila will also become a major tourist attraction, as efforts are on by Archaeological Survey of India to restore its glory.

Remains of bathroom, cistern and fountains were found during excavation by Archaeological Survey of India near Golconda fort. After clearing the soil and grass beautiful bathroom, fountain and cistern appeared. According to officials steps will be taken to restore the lost glory of Naya Qila. The revelations during 2nd phase of excavation are quite promising and it will be tried to make the section of the Qila worth watching besides conserving the remains.

Archaeological Survey of India is trying to restore the glory of Naya Qila under which measures like beautifying Golconda Fort, Qutub Shahi Tombs and surrounding areas will be undertaken.

The work is undertaken under the supervision of Mr. Najmuddin Taher superintendent Archaeological Survey of India. These measures have increased the value of this section of the fort which was hitherto left unattended.

Mr. Najmuddin Taher told that extra care is needed to retrieve the heritage hence the work is undertaken under the supervision of experts.
