Hyderabad: A delegation of Telangana Activists called on the VC of OU and submitted a memorandum requesting him to restore the old emblem of Osmania University before organizing the centenary celebrations of the University in order to protect its old dignity.
The delegation included Mr. K. M. Arifuddin, Dr. K. Chiranjeevi, Capt. L. Pandu Ranga Reddy, Mr. Ziauddin Nayyar and Mr. Gulam Yazdani. They apprised him that the old emblem of Osmania University reminds us of the old traditions of Asif Jahi rulers. Osmania University Arts Colleges is an Architectural monument.
Dr. Chiranjeevi told that the old emblem was mutilated during the period of Andhra rulers.
