Restoration of grandeur of Muslims possible only through reservations – Amer Ali Khan

Hyderabad: Success is not obtained through desires but only through struggles. Reservation is the democratic right of the Muslims and they could be obtained through united struggle. These thoughts were expressed by Mr. Amer Ali Khan, News Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily while addressing a gathering of leaders, intellectuals, students, religious and social workers at Koratla in Kareem Nagar District yesterday.

On special instructions from the Chief Patron of 12% reservations for Muslims and Editor of Siasat, Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Mr. Amer Ali Khan has been visiting Telangana districts to create awareness among the Muslims and also to ensure reservation.

Mr. Mohammed Mobeen Pasha, Advocate and President of Bar Association presided over the meeting. Mr. Amer Ali Khan told that Govt. of Telangana is interested in providing 12% reservation to Muslims and CM himself has promised to do so. However, if these reservations are provided through legal means, Muslims would benefit from it. It is only possible through the recommendations of BCs Commission. It would establish the credibility of the Govt. If reservations are provided without seeking legal opinion and proper recommendation of BCs Commission, the credibility of the Govt. itself would be shaken. He appealed to Muslims intellectual, Ulema, Lawyers, Students, Teachers, Parents and other leaders to continue their struggle and increase their representations. The campaign initiated by Siasat Urdu Daily is exclusively in the interest of the Muslims community. It is therefore an obligation of the Muslims to take serious steps in this regard. During the present days, Muslims are facing a lot of difficulties in the field of education due to various hurdles. Muslims should make an attempt for their own development. He further told that the need of the hour is to consider the development of the community as an obligation. Muslims have been facing injustices continuously right from the day of Independence which is one of the important causes of the backwardness of the Muslims. We should move forward taking a lesson from the past instead of regretting. The percentage of the Muslims in Govt. jobs is very less. There is an opportunity now to get Govt. jobs if reservations are provided. If 12% reservations are not provided now, in the next 20 years there won’t be an opportunity to recruit 1.07 lakh positions. It is therefore necessary for the Muslim community to get benefit out of it. Siasat Urdu Daily initiated the campaign for providing 12% reservations to Muslims so that the bright future of the Muslim youth could be ensured.

In order to boost up the morale of the Muslims, Mr. Amer Ali Khan narrated the story of a bird in which its young ones expressed an apprehension from the house owner. The bird leaves in a satisfactory manner. The owner of the garden gives an order to the labourer to cut the trees in the garden and later the owner of the garden instruct the son to cut the trees. In all these instances, the bird is not afraid but when the owner of the garden himself makes an attempt to cut the trees in the garden, it changes its nest out of fear. He told instead of instructing others, he took upon himself to lead the campaign of creating awareness for reservations which is yielding fruitful results.

Mr. Aariz Mohammed, President of Muslim Empowerment told that Mr. Amer Ali Khan initiated this movement and the Muslims are supporting it. It is the responsibility of the Muslims to submit memoranda to Tehsildars, RDOs, Collectors and elected representatives to ensure 12% reservations for Muslims. He pointed out that Mr. KCR had made a promise to provide 12% reservations to Muslims within four months of assuming power. He had made this announcement in an election meeting held at Shadnagar. TRS Govt. has completed 15 months of its power but the promise made to Muslims for providing 12% reservation has not been fulfilled. If the Govt. is serious about providing these reservations, it should constitute BCs Commission immediately to get its recommendations.

Mufti Nadeem Siddiqui told that Urdu newspapers had played an important role in freedom struggle and hoped that on account of campaign initiated by Siasat Urdu Daily, Muslims would get 12% reservations.

Mr. Syed Mohiuddin, Staff reporter of Siasat demanded KCR to fulfill his promise. He also told the parents to concentrate on the education of their children.

Mr. Mohammed Nayeemuddin, President of Jamat-e-Islami of the district told that the campaign started by Siasat Urdu Daily is successful in its objective. He further told that the non-Muslim intellectuals opined that the economic backwardness of the Muslims is fateful for the country. Mr. Riyazuddin Rizvi told that political parties exploited the Muslims as their vote banks. Mr. Mohammed Najeebuddin, President of Empowerment Movement and TRS leader of Koratla told that the purpose of holding this meeting is to create awareness among the citizens of Koratla. He appealed to the Muslims to continue their struggle till reservations are announced.

Mr. Mohammed Mobeen Pasha, Advocate and President of Bar Association of Koratla thanked Mr. Amer Ali Khan for his visit to the town. He told that during YSR regime, Muslims were given 4% reservations which is benefiting a lot of Muslim youths. He demanded Mr. KCR to fulfill its election promise. He also thanked Mr. Zahid Ali Khan and Mr. Amer Ali Khan for leading this campaign. Mr. Mohammed Abdus Saleem Farooqui, Correspondent of Siasat Urdu Daily, Koratla in his opening remarks welcomed the guests and the audience and told that Siasat Urdu Daily has been carrying out many welfare activities for the benefit of community. He mentioned that two talented students namely Shaik Junaid and Mohammed Ghyasuddin have been continuing their education with the help of Siasat Urdu Daily. He readout the resolution of the Muslims of Koratla supporting the movement for 12% reservation for Muslims. He supported Mr. Amer Ali Khan’s campaign.
