Revanth denied entry at Lobby entrance; Kishan fumes at police

Police officials and security personnel did not allow suspended TDP legislator A Revanth Reddy to enter the lobbies of Assembly during the budget session on Thursday. The security officials stopped Revanth Reddy at the main entrance of the lobbies when he tried to make an entry and meet with Speaker S Madhusudana Chary.

This prompted BJP floor leader G Kishan Reddy, who was passing by, to express displeasure at the security officials. Kishan Reddy pulled them up seeking to know whether Revanth is a criminal to be stopped from entering the lobbies. “This is not the way the police officials should behave with the legislators in the Assembly”, Kishan Reddy fumed. However, the former said they stopped the TD member followed by an order from their chief marshal of the Assembly.

It may be mentioned here that the Speaker had suspended Revenath Reddy and S Venkata Veeraiah till the end of the budget session for trying to disrupt Governor’s speech to joint session on March 12, when Assembly Affairs minister T Harish Rao moved the motion.

Keeping this in view, the security personnel did not allow the TDP member to enter the lobbies.

Revanth Reddy expressed anguish at the security officials for stopping him. The TD member asked them whether they have any papers related to the suspension of the TD members. (NSS)
