Revanth slams Speaker’s decision to merge TD members into TRS

Hyderabad: Telangana (TS) Legislature Party leader A. Revanth Reddy today took a serious exception to the decision taken by the Speaker merging the 12 TDP defector members into the ruling party. He dubbed the Speaker’s decision as totally “unconstitutional” as a case against the defections was pending in Supreme Court.
Brushing aside Constitutional and legislature conventions, the Speaker merged 12 TDP legislators with the TRS, he said, adding that “We earlier asked the Speaker several times to disqualify the MLAs who joined the TRS at different times and occasions, Revanth Reddy said. He also questioned the Speaker’s intention in merging the defected MLAs into the ruling party reacting immediately to the letter by Errabelli Dayakar. How can the Speaker take this decision while the complaints for disqualification of the MLAs were pending with him for 20 long months? There is a political conspiracy hidden in this entire episode. It is very painful as all this was happening in the Assembly, Revanth Reddy said. (NSS)
