Reverted Muslim youth stab to death in Malappuram

Malappuram: A 32-year-old youth, who had recently reverted to Islam, was found brutally hacked to death.

The incident happened in the wee hours on Saturday at Farook Nagar in Kodinhi in Malappuram district.

The deceased identified as Faisal P, alias Aneesh Kumar, son of Ananthan Nair, of Kodinhi.

Local residents spotted the lifeless body lying by the roadside at around 4 am.

According to The New Indian Express reports, deep cuts by sharp-edged weapon were found on his head and stomach.

Faisal, a Gulf employee, converted to Islam just 6 months ago when working as a driver.

Fondly known as Unni, Faisal was on leave, returned home only 4 months ago, police said.

His wife also embraced Islam recently and has been attending classes at Mounathul Islamic Sabha at Ponnani.

The couple is blessed with three children going to Islamic Education Centre (IEC) High School at Kodinhi.

He had received threats from his family members after he embraced Islam, said the neighbors.

Police have launched a probe into the incident and are examining the CCTV visuals to find the culprits.
