Rs. 10 crore daily property tax collection target fixed

Hyderabad: GHMC has prepared a special plan to collect Rs. 10 crore daily as property tax. It has decided to create public awareness to reach the target. It has also started taking steps to collect the arrears from Govt. Departments. Commissioner of GHMC convened a special meeting of high level meeting to explore the possibilities of collecting Rs. 1, 100 by the end of March.

Later, Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy, Commissioner of GHMC issued a press note in which he hoped that it would be possible to reach the target by 31st March 2016. So far, Municipal Officials have already collected Rs. 545crore. Still there is 45 days time. GHMC has also decided to appoint additional staff at every circle. The properties which have not been paying property tax will also be identified. Municipal Officials would contact the tax payer at the residences. They will also concentrate on SMS. Approvals of construction plans, occupancy certificates, BPS will also be checked. He appealed to the citizens to pay the tax immediately.
