Rs 100 cr for parks, forest blocks: Jogu

The State government is determined to develop parks and expand green cover around Hyderabad, forest and environment minister Jogu Ramanna has said. The Government first priority is to develop parks as the beautiful destinations with enticing sites and favourable atmosphere for families to enjoy and saunter. Parks development plan will be implemented with coordination of GHMC and HMDA he said.

He made a visit to Deer Park near Vanasthalipuram on the outskirts of the city here and said that the previous governments failed to develop the parks. Now the TRS Government has decided to increase the green cover and develop forest blocks through massive a forestation program and also develop parks in the city and districts.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao aims to develop parks at a cost of Rs 100 cr as that will enable the people relax from regular routine mechanical life with family members including children.

Ramanna said that they will take serious action on those grabbing forest and government lands and recover them. We will develop number of parks in the city which is surrounded by 99 parks as of now and problems of garbage dumping near the parks will be addressed he said. (NSS)
