Rs 23,400 cr tax revenue collected: Talasani

Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today said that his department got a collection of taxes Rs 23,400 crore by Dec last against the target of Rs 36,000 crore for 2015-16 financial year. At the commercial taxes office here he launched by flagging of 25 new Innova vehicles worth Rs 3 crore to strengthen the department. The collection was 16.5 per cent more compared to the previous fiscal, Srinivas Yadav said. He praised the officials for trying to reach their target and the new vehicles will help enforcement wing to improve their services at district level. Stating that the new industrial policy is fetching more business, industries and investments, he said that they will not cause any inconvenience to the businessmen and companies who should pay their taxes on time and avoid penalties. The minister also warned that the government will not spare tax evaders who should come forward voluntarily to pay taxes for state development. (NSS)
