Government of Telangana implements the Scholarship scheme for Minority students along with other backward community students. The Government has released Rs 300 crores for clearing the backlogs of 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16 of RTF and Post-Matric Scholarship for Minority students and the releases are in progress from the districts. Till date, an amount of Rs 122.34 crore has been disbursed to the colleges and students accounts. Balance work is in progress.
It has come to the notice of the Government , that certain college managements are pressuring the eligible students to pay the fees, in spite of them having been registered and eligible on the e-pass website. This is clearly illegal as Government is reimbursing the fees of eligible students. Such college managements are warned to desist from forcing the e-pass registered students to pay the fees or to withhold their certificates, failing which severe action will be initiated against the errant managements.
