Rs. 5,000 Cr for Health in Telangana’s next budget: Minister

Hyderabad: Health Minister Dr. K. Lakshma Reddy on Monday announced that the Telangana Government would allocate Rs. 5,000 for Medical and Health Department in its next budget for the financial year 2016-17.

Speaking after inaugurating a dental centre in Banjara Hills here, the minister said that the State Government was committed towards providing better medical facilities to all poor families in the State. He said all government hospitals would be upgraded on par with corporate hospitals. By allocating Rs. 5,000 crore in next budget, the entire public health sector would be streamlined and strengthened, he said.

The minister also informed that 108 emergency services on motorcycles would be launched in the next few days wherein specially designed bikes would be equipped with first aid kits. (INN)
