Rs. 50000 donated for burial of unclaimed Muslim bodies

‘Siasat is not just a newspaper but a movement which is taking a number of measures for educational and economic development of minorities. Muslims in general and youth in particular are benefiting from the programmes held by Siasat. Be it the preparation of Adhaar Cards or the matter of central or state governments’ scholarship, Siasat is always in the forefront. Siasat editor Mr. Zahed Ali Khan’s services are truly laudable.’ These views were expressed by treasurer Hyderabad Muslim Welfare Association, Kuwait, Hafez Mohammed Zafar Ali Quraishi on the occasion of his meeting with Siasat editor Mr. Zahed Ali Khan. He termed the funeral rites of unclaimed Muslim bodies performed by Siasat as an exemplary service and said it had no parallels in entire Asian continent.

On the occasion he donated Rs. 50000 cash to Siasat Millat Fund for funeral rites of unclaimed Muslim bodies on behalf of Hyderabad Muslim Welfare Association, Kuwait. It must be noted that Siasat has been undertaking the task of performing funeral rites of unclaimed Muslim bodies since 2010 at the behest of Siasat editor Mr. Zahed Ali Khan to ensure sanctity of unclaimed bodies. Nearly Rs. 2500 to 3500 are spent on the shrouding and burial of each body. Siasat has arranged funeral rites of nearly 3200 bodies so far during the past 5 years.
