Sabita dares Harish for a debate on city development

Challenging Major Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao to explain the extent of development took place in Hyderabad City after TRS came to power, former minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy today made it clear she was ready for a debate on the issue.

Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, along with former minister Prasada Rao, MLA T Rammohan Reddy, Sabitha questioned as to why the TRS government removed Ranga Reddy district from the Pranahitha-Chevella project. She wondered at the statements of the TRS leaders that there was no development during previous Congress regime. Asserting that the Congress government had taken up many developmental programs in Hyderabad city, she asked TRS leaders whether it was not a fact that Congress regime brought Krishna water to the city, constructed Outer Ring Road and launched Metro Rail project.

Alleging that the TRS government was trying to change the design of the Pranahitha-Chevella project for the sake of ‘commissions’, Sabitha asked the government to tell as to why the Pranahitha-Chevella project, which comes up to Medak district, cannot come to Rangareddy district.

Demanding that the TRS government extend the Pranahitha-Chevella project up to Rangareddy district, Sabitha said the Centre would not accord national status if the design of the Pranahitha-Chevella project was changed. She also expressed concern that Rs 1000 crore spent on Pranahitha-Chevella project in Rangareddy district would be wasted if the design of the project was changed. She also lashed out at the Ministers and MLAs, who supposed to mount pressure on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Pranahitha-Chevella project, remaining tightlipped for fear of annoying the CM.
