SAD demands apology from Kejriwal for using insulting language against Akalis

Chandigarh: The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has warned the Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Admi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal to resist from using indecent, foul and highly defamatory language against the Akalis and asked him to read the history of Akali Morchas including Nankana Sahib, Panja Sahib, Guru Ka Bagh Morcha, Punjabi Suba Morcha and Morcha against the Emergency before making comments about the akalis.

In a hard hitting statement released from the party head office here today, the SAD secretary and spokesman and Punjab Education Minister Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema said that the language used by Kejriwal is highly derogatory, condemnable and amounts to a personal attack on each and every worker of the Shiromani Akali Dal.

He warned him to immediately stop using such insulting, abusive and inflammatory language and urged him to tender an unconditional public apology.

Making mockery of his claim on removing corruption from Punjab if AAP is voted to power within two months, the SAD leader said that it was surprising that the corruption was flourishing under his government in Delhi and surpassed even the previous record but he is making tall and hollow promises to Punjabis only to lure them to vote for the AAP.

Cheema further said that it was surprising that when whole world is denouncing violence in Haryana and expressing solidarity with the affected people who lost precious lives and thousands of crores of property, the Delhi Chief Minister didn’t get time to visit affected people in his home state. The only reason was that there is no election due in Haryana.

Cheema said that after the recent attack on Pathankot airbase, he reached Punjab to meet the families of the martyr Subedar Major Fateh Singh and Havildar Kulwant Singh and also gave cheque of Rs. two lakh each which was a good gesture but it is surprising that he didn’t get the time to visit the house of any of the other five martyrs as there was no election in their states.

Asking Kejriwal to mend his ways, Cheema said that it would be better that he studies the culture, values and history of brave Punjabis before visiting the state and making such dirty comments. (ANI)
