Saharanpur: Pregnant woman denied ambulance service

Saharanpur: A pregnant woman on Wednesday was allegedly denied ambulance service citing unavailability of fuel in a community hospital in Saharanpur district, Uttar Pradesh. However, pictures showed two ambulances parked at the hospital.

Uttar Pradesh Health Minister SN Singh promptly reacted and said: “This is unacceptable, 108 service providers have to understand this or I have to use provision of the contract,” Oneindia reported.

Earlier this week, a man had to carry his 7 months old niece’s dead body on cycle after he was denied an ambulance at a govt. hospital. The child died on Monday, despite repeated requests to the hospital, the ambulance was not provided. Brijmohan borrowed a cycle and carried it for almost 10 km.
