Hyderabad: President of Lok Satta, Dr. Jai Prakash Narayan criticized the Central Govt. that it has increased the salaries its staff without improving the standards of their services. In a statement released yesterday, he said that with the increase of salaries, corruption has also increased whereas the services provided by the Central Govt. employees are of very low standard. He asked the Govt. “If it democracy?” He further told that there is a need to reform service sector. 90% people work in unorganized sector. If we spent 1% of our national income on health, better medical services could be provided to the people. In the 50 major economies of the world, we are at the lowest in the fields of Health and Education. Central Govt. should improve the quality of services in its offices.
