Salute Hanamanthappa’s endurance, will power to serve nation: Sonia Gandhi

New Delhi: Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday said that she was praying for the speedy recovery of Lance Naik Hanamanthappa Koppad- the Army jawan who is battling for his life after he survived being snowed in 25 feet below the surface for six days in Siachen.

“I join the nation in praying for the speedy recovery of Shri Lance Naik Hanumanthappa. We salute his endurance and will power to serve the nation,” the Indian National Congress quoted Sonia in a series of tweets.

Asserting that the nation remains indebted to Hanamanthappa’s service, she added that he had fought the most challenging circumstances that a man can ever face.

“True to the glorious tradition of our armed forces, L/Nk Hanumanthappa fought the most challenging circumstances that a man can ever face,” the INC tweeted.

Meanwhile, Koppad remains critical as he has been placed on a ventilator to protect his airway and lungs in view of his comatose state.

He is currently admitted in the Army Hospital Research and Referral in Delhi. (ANI)
