SAM and Co advises stake sale in Alstom Bharat Forge Power to the GE Group

New Delhi, Dec 1 : Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and Co (SAM and Co) acted as India’s legal counsel to Alstom in relation to the sale of Alstom’s stake in Alstom Bharat Forge Power Private Limited, to the GE Group. This transaction involved the sale of Alstom’s entire 51 percent share holding in its joint venture with Bharat Forge Limited to GE.

The general corporate team of Shardul was led by Akila Agrawal, Partner, and included Mukul Sharma, Principal Associate.

The team had advised Alstom in relation to the drafting of relevant corporate authorizations and transaction documents. This transaction was a part of the global acquisition of the thermal and renewable power and grid business of Alstom by GE in various jurisdictions.

In India the acquisition was consummated by gaining indirect control of two Alstom listed entities by GE and this direct transfer of shares of Alstom Bharat Forge Private Limited. The parties involved in the transaction were Alstom, GE and Bharat Forge. (ANI)
