Sangma for floating alternative party to TRS

Alleging that the ruling TRS party was facing opposition from all sections of the people in the State, National People’s Party (NPP) chief P N Sangma has opined that there was a need to float a new political party as an alternative to the TRS in Telangana State.

Speaking to the media at Somajiguda Press Club here on Saturday, along with former MLA Yennam Srinivas Reddy and Dr Cheruku Sudhakar, Sangma said the TDP was confined to Andhra Pradesh and the BJP was not in a position to improve in Telangana State. He said the Congress in Telangana state was facing lack of leadership. He said farmers and students were facing a lot of problems in Telangana. He said he would extend his support to the alternative party to the existing parties in Telangana State.

Earlier, Sangma visited the Hyderabad Central University and extended support to the students’ dharna. He expressed condolences to Rohit’s family. He sat in the Dharna for a while along with AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi, who sat with the students in Dharna demanding action against Union Ministers Bandaru Dattatreya, Smrithi Irani and HCU Vice-Chancellor P Appa Rao.
