Sarah Palin supports Donald Trump’s presidential bid

Washington: Donald Trump’s Republican presidential bid received the backing of Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor and 2008 vice-presidential nominee.

In a campaign rally at Iowa State University on Tuesday, Ms Palin asked cheering supporters .“Are you ready for the leader to make America great again?”, “Are you ready to stump for Trump? I’m here to support the next president of the United States – Donald Trump.” she added

Mr Trump was someone ready to let US troops “kick Isis’ ass”, “We are ready for a change, and our troops deserve the best, a new commander-in-chef, whose track record of success proves he is the master of the art of the deal”, She said.

Ms Palin has repeatedly praised Mr Trump during his White House run, especially over his recent proposal to suspend the admission of Muslim refugees to the US.

Her support is the highest-profile backing for a Republican contender so far. Donald Trump said in a statement that he was “proud” to receive her backing.

Ms Palin was a “trusted conservative” with a “proven record of being fiscally modest, staunchly pro-life and [she] believes in small government that allows businesses to grow and freedom to prosper”, the statement added.

Mr. Trump was holding multiple campaign events and raising expectations about his performance in the nation’s first nominating contest.
