Sasikala writes to TN Governor, seeks appointment to prove majority

Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Feb. 11 (ANI): All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) General Secretay V.K. Sasikala Natarajan on Friday wrote a letter to Tamil Nadu Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao seeking an appointment to prove majority.

“I would like to seek an appointment with you by today along with all MLAs who extended their support to me regarding further course of action to form the government,” the letter read.

Promising to parade all the MLAs who support her, Sasikala further asked the governor to take swift action regarding the political turmoil in the state.

“I believe your Excellency will act immediately to save the sovereignty of the Constitution, democracy and the interest of the state,” the letter added.

The swearing-in ceremony of Sasikala has been put on hold as interim chief minister O. Panneerselvam has staged a rebellion against the former.

In a major turn of events, Sasikala earlier staked her claim to form government.

“Chinnamma stakes claim to form Government,” AIADMK tweeted.
