Saudi Arabia to open its ‘First Snow City’ in Riyadh

Riyadh: The kingdom of Saudi Arabia is set to open the first Snow City in Riyadh on Wednesday.

Al Othaim Leisure and Tourism Company  is planning to bring the winter wonderland to the kingdom at Al-Othaim Mall Rabwa  on July 13.

“A touristic attraction of this magnitude coincides with the Kingdom’s 2030 vision as well as the direction of the wise governance of the custodian of the two holy mosques, King Salman bin AbulAziz Al Saud, which aims to boost and develop internal tourism,” Fahad Bin Abdullah Al Othaim, Chief Executive Officer, said, according to Saudi Gazette.

Saudis can now experience and enjoy a white winter that will have a year-round temperature of under 3 degrees Celsius including a panoramic suspension bridge sledge and ski zone, , ice bumper cars, rope courses, climbing wall, snow mobiles among its attractions.

“Snow City is considered to be the first and largest comprehensive snow attraction in the Kingdom. It has been constructed on a 5000sqm area with a cost of around 100 million Riyals and with an hourly capacity of 350 people,” he said.
