The Telangana Congress MLAs’ disqualification petition has been transferred to constitutional bench of the Supreme Court. The two-member Bench took up hearing on Tuesday on the petition filed by Congress MLA S A Sampath Kumar from Telangana State.
The Apex Court said it agrees with the petitioner’s arguments. The Court stated it has no belief that the Telangana Assembly Speaker would take a decision on MLAs’ disqualifications. It also said it has no authority to order the Speaker and asked the Five-Member Constitutional Bench to give clarity on it and transferred the petition to it. (NSS)
