School Principal booked for caning student?

Kottarakkara: A police case was registered against Principal of a private school in Kollam district on charges of caning a 12-year-boy.

Quoting a complaint by the parents, police said the Principal had called Abel to his room and started beating him and three other students “without citing any reason.”

According to the complaint Abel, a seventh standard student, suffered serious injuries on his buttocks in the beating.

The incident came into notice after the boy’s parents came across the injury marks over his body when he reached back home from the school in the afternoon.

The case was registered under IPC 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) and Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act.

The boy was later admitted to a nearby hospital.
