Amid fears of cannibalism the Seattle Aquarium canceled an octopus mating session. As the aquarium invites visitors to watch an octopus couple mating every year on Valentine’s Day.
Kong the 70-pound, eight-armed creature’s mating was the main attraction at an aquarium event. But this year the aquarium could not find a female octopus large enough for Kong.
The aquarium worried that Kong would end up eating the creature it mates with, according to the affiliate. The female octopus which is available was about half of his weight.
