Secretary of Anwar-ul-Uloom College files contempt of court petition in HC against CEO of Wakf Board

Hyderabad: Secretary of Anwar-ul-Uloom Educational Society has filed a contempt of court petition in High Court against Mr. M.A. Mannan Farooqui, CEO of Wakf Board alleging that he has violated the judgment of Justice Vilas Afzulpurkar pronounced on 11th April 2014 in which instructions were issued to give 45 days’ notice to the college.

The petitioner contended that CEO of Wakf Board made an attempt to take educational institutions run by the management of Anwar-ul-Uloom educational society under its control violating the High Court orders.

Mr. Mohammed Saleem, Chairman of Wakf Board told that the purpose of such petition is to harass the Wakf Board officials so that they could not take any further action. He also said that the services of experts in the law field would be commissioned.

Mr. M.A. Mannan Farooqui, CEO of Wakf Board told that he has been functioning as per the records of Wakf Board and hence he has no fear for such notices. In fact, the filing of contempt of court petition is a psychological tactics to influence him. Such cases were also registered in the past against Wakf Board Officials.

Mr. Farooqui further told that as CEO of Wakf Board, it is his duty to protect wakf properties and as per the Wakf Act, he is answerable to Wakf Board. He informed that all the documents pertaining to wakf property of Anwar-ul-Uloom Colleges are available with the Wakf Board.
