Position Title
Senior Project Control Engineer
Position reports to: Project Service Manager
Primary objective
To be an integral part of the project management team to proactively support the Project to ensure that projects are executed within schedule and budget.
Responsible for supervision & data integrity-check of all Project Controls activities and deliverables (functional implementation and maintenance of corporate project controls systems, work-methods, processes and procedures for all the projects involved).
Specific Accountabilities
Responsible for Project Planning, Progress Measurement & Control, Cost Control and Project Close Out activities during various phases of the assigned project(s).
Ensure that all project control mandatory requirements are adhered to, based on project classification as per WorleyParsons WPMP process.
Effective delegation of work on major projects that have a team of project controls personnel.
Ensure project control set up facilitates both internal management and external client reporting requirements.
Ensure effective interface management to address all project level interface requirements of project controls with Customer, project management, document control and finance.
Drive management of change process at project level.
Ensure timely issuance of internal and external project reporting.
Ensure accuracy of the information being published by project controls at the project level.
Liaise with the Management Team on all relevant cost and planning issue
Prepare regular status reports and forecasts for project management and client review.
Establish and maintain activity level integration between Primavera and Project Management Reporting tool.
Maintain the current and baseline schedule, analyse the effect of proposed changes and maintain the baseline change control authorisation process.
Provide Project Control inputs to Proposals.
Participate in monthly MPRD reviews.
Provide mentoring to junior department team members to help them in their professional development.
Carry out work in accordance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems
Quality Assurance Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the Oil & Gas Business Unit.
Safety Responsible for personal safety safe working practices for the Oil & Gas Business Unit. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.
Essential Skills / Experience
Must have an Engineering Degree
Must have minimum 10 years relevant experience in oil & gas / petrochemical industry
Sound project control fundamentals is essential
Knowledge of overall EPC execution and detailed knowledge of engineering activities interdependencies is essential
Matching Indicators
Normally qualified engineers with a four years bachelors engineering degree.
Must have minimum 8 years experience in Project Planning and Control
Must have minimum 8 years experience in Planning Software Primavera
