Censor board inevitable to rein in channels spreading hatred

A symposium entitled ‘Role of media in promotion of religious intolerance’ was organised by Elders Think Tank and Sadaat Education and Welfare Society at Mahboob Husain Jigar Hall. Speakers unanimously opined that some media channels are playing negative role and are promoting religious intolerance. Hence ‘Media Censor Board’ is inevitable to have control over such channels.

Mr. Zahed Ali Khan Siasat editor and Vice President Think Tank said that unity in diversity is the hallmark of India, safeguarding it is the joint responsibility of all citizens and media. He exhorted Muslims and other minorities to shun the attitude of complaining, become practical and form a joint strategy. Siasat Daily has always persuaded Muslims to join the national mainstream, he said. He opined that unity among Muslims is badly needed in the present scenario.

Mr. Mohammed Mustafa Ali Sarwari, Associate Professor MANUU said that such situation has been created in the country that we look each other with suspicion. He maintained that no religion teaches hatred. He urged respected citizens to ignore insincere channels and encourage channels who play constructive role.

Mr. Khaleequr Rahman member Sadaat Society, Mr. Bhaskar Bini advocate, Joint Secretary Think Tank, Mohammed Aliuddin Quadri Abul Alai General Secretary, Dr. Shaikh Siyadat Ali, Dr. Nazim Ali member, Syed Samiullah Husaini Banda Nawazi General Secretary Sadat Education Society and Mr. Syed Amjad Yousuf advocate member Society also spoke on the occasion.
