Hyderabad: The Main opposition leader in the Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir has alleged that the state government passed the Telangana Land Acquisition Bill within three and half minutes after the commencement of the Council.
Speaking to the media after the adjournment of the House on Sunday, Shabbir Ali questioned the ruling TRS party to tell as to why it was afraid of opposition though it has full majority in the House. The Chairman announced that the Bill was passed unilaterally, without giving chance to the opposition parties to speak. The ruling party didn’t listen even though the opposition party members rushed to the well demanding the chair to take up farmers’ issue first and later the Telangana Land Acquisition Bill. The Khammam district chilli farmers were facing lot of hardships as they were not getting minimum support price to their produce. Describing the day as a black day for democracy as the government didn’t lend its ear to the opposition parties demand to take up discussion on farmers’ issue, Shabbir Ali said that the united Andhra Pradesh rulers too never behaved in this atrocious manner.
