Shabbir Ali receives threatening call; Lodges complaint at J.Hills PS

Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Friday received a call from an anonymous caller who threatened to kill him if he does not stop criticising Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.

Shabbir Ali received the call at 5.42 PM on Friday from a landline number 040-69542335. The caller used abusive and filthy language against him and threatened to eliminate him. “Being the Leader of Opposition in Telangana State Legislative Council, I have been criticizing the TRS Government and Chief Minister Mr. K. Chandrashekhar Rao and his policies. However, I’ve been receiving these types of threatening calls quite often. Today’s call was quite serious in nature and therefore, I’m lodging this complaint,” Shabbir Ali said in his complaint lodged at the Jubilee Hills Police Station on Friday night.

The Congress leader urged the police to initiate immediate action by tracing the caller and also unravel the conspiracy behind such threatening calls. “I’m afraid that some unidentified elements might cause physical harm to me if they remain untraced and if no action is taken against them,” he demanded.
