Shah Rukh taught me to be humble: Waluscha De Sousa

Mumbai: Model-turned-actress Waluscha De Sousa is making her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in “Fan” and she says besides acting the superstar taught her the art of not letting success get into your head.

The actress, who will be romancing the 50-year-old “Dilwale” actor in Maneesh Sharma’s directorial venture, said she has become a bigger fan of him after working in the film.

“I have become a bigger fan of Shah Rukh after working with him. I have taken so much experience for him – one that you need to be passionate and second you need to be willing to put your hundred per cent.

“Passion and hard work goes hand in hand. What I learnt from him is no matter how far life takes you, at the end of the day you need to be humble,” Waluscha told PTI on the sidelines of Lakme Fashion Week.

The newbie said she was not nervous to share screen with SRK because he never behaves like a superstar and just focuses on his work like everyone else on the set.

“Shah Rukh is very calm. He gives his everything once he is working. He never rushes and you don’t feel the stress.

When he is filming he is not a superstar, he is this man who is working on his craft and loves his job,” she said.

Crediting her destiny for her dream debut, Waluscha said she is just luckier than any other fan of the “Chennai Express” star.

“I consider myself a Shah Rukh fan like everyone. The only difference is I just got lucky to get this opportunity of working with him. I feel for me ‘Fan’ was destined to happen.”

“I had my fan girl moment when I got to know that I will be doing this film opposite him. I am still living in a dream bubble and the reality hasn’t hit me yet… Starring in a film with megastar Shah Rukh Khan is humbling,” she added.

With her movie set to release on April 15, Waluscha hopes that her acting career goes well.

“I am looking forward to doing a lot of different characters and working with various directors and actors. I don’t have a plan of action, it’s a very clean slate. Let’s see how the industry responds.”

The actress finds herself lucky to get such a good director and praised the “Band Baajaa Baaraat” helmer, saying he is like a buddy to her.

“Maneesh is such a cool director. Working with him is so easy. He is chilled and relaxed. He is like a buddy to me.”

Produced by Yash Raj Films, the movie will see Shah Rukh in a double role – one as a superstar and other his look-alike fan Gaurav.
