Keeping in view the increasing number of women travellers to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad, the Cyberabad Traffic Police has linked the SHE Cabs with the Traffic Police Prepaid Booth at the Airport.
The Cyberabad Police Commissioner launched the SHE Cabs as part of Prepaid Cab Services at the Hyderabad Airport on Friday afternoon. A total of 10 SHE Cabs have been started today. The Cyberabad Security Council and GMR played a key role in operationalising this initiative.
It may be mentioned here that SHE Cabs scheme was launched by the Transport Department. In the absence of any organised operational model, the SHE Cabs owners/drivers had approached Cyberabad Traffic Police for support to operate as part of the Prepaid Cab Services. Since the SHE Cab drivers are all women, they will provide services to women travellers and when they are accompanied by other family members. (NSS)
