Shiv Sena demands imposition of Governor’s rule in J&K

Srinagar: BJP’s coalition partner at the Centre Shiv Sena today took a strong exception to the situation in Jammu and Kashmir and demanded imposition of Governor’s rule in the state.

“It is unfortunate that administration and rule of law have completely collapsed in Jammu and Kashmir. It is high time Governor’s rule was imposed in the state,” state Sena chief Dimpy Kohli told reporters here.

“As BJP is in power in the state, the Narendra Modi government at the Centre is not imposing Governor’s rule as it did in Uttarakhand and Arunachal Pradesh with bad intentions,” he added.

Kashmir Valley is on the boil as clashes between mobs and security forces have left 36 persons dead and more than 200 injured in the aftermath of the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani by security forces in an encounter last Friday.

Kohli appealed to the state government for suitable security arrangements for Amarnath yatris and to convene a civil society meeting in view of the prevailing situation.
