Shop owners in Hyderabad can keep their shops open through out the night since a model law that allows shops, malls and other establishments to operate throughout the year has received Cabinet approval, which will give them the flexibility to open and shut at their convenience. It seeks to allow malls and shopping establishments to remain open 24X7. If the Union cabinet proposal is accepted by the state government, shop owners of Hyderabad and Secunderabad will have liberty to open and shut their shops at their convenience.
It must be noted that business establishments remain open in areas like old city, Mehdipatnam, Gachibowli, Madhapur and other places till late night.
The Centre has been receiving suggestions from time to time to enact the model law, which the states could consider for enforcement either by adopting the central law or necessary modification by the state law.
Traders feel that it is a very welcome move and the model law will boost Hyderabadi economy.
