Shops in twin cities permitted to remain open after 10 pm during Ramadan

CHARMINAR: The Telangana Government has given exemption under the current rules, and permitted the shops and business establishments to remain open throughout the night in twin cities during Ramadan. Shops and other business establishments can now remain open after 10 pm.

K Y Naik, Chief Inspector and Commissioner of labor in an official statement released on Saturday said, “All shops and business establishments in Telangana have been given exemption from provisions of the Telangana Shops and Establishment Act, 1988, to run their businesses between May 27 and June 26”.

However, the labour department has set some special rules for this month. It has exempted women employees from extra work and no woman employee is allowed to work after 8.30 pm. The shops and other business establishments are supposed to pay extra wages to the workers for their overtime, remunerative holiday, and the number of hours should not exceed more than 13 hrs a day, including Sunday, as reported in Times of India.
